The material thermal expansion coefficient of aluminum alloy parts is large, so it is easy to deform in the process of thin-wall machining.

Especially when using free forging blank, the machining allowance is large and the deformation problem is more prominent.

Today, we are going to learn what measures should be adopted in CNC machining aluminum alloy parts deformation?

First of all, we know that in CNC Turning machining, there are many reasons for the deformation of aluminum alloy parts, which are related to the performance of cutting oil under the shape production condition of material parts, mainly in the following aspects: the deformation caused by inner stress of the blank, the deformation caused by cutting heat, and the deformation caused by clamping force.

In view of this kind of machining problems of mechanical parts, some solutions have been obtained from machining company who are with 13-year experience in CNC machining.

1. Improve tool structure

Reduce the number of milling cutter teeth and increase chip tolerance.

Because the material of aluminum alloy is large in plasticity and the cutting deformation is large in machining, it needs a large chip tolerance space, so the chip tolerance groove bottom radius should be large and the number of milling cutter teeth should be small.

2. fine grinding tool teeth

Before using a new knife, we need to use a fine whetstone to gently grind the front and back of the tool teeth in order to eliminate the remaining burrs and slight serrated marks when the blade grinds the teeth.

This not only reduces the cutting heat but also reduces the cutting deformation.

3. Strictly control tool wear standards

The surface roughness of products increases after tool wear, and the deformation of products increases as the cutting temperature increases.

Therefore, in addition to the selection of tool materials with good abrasion resistance, tool wear should also be strictly controlled, otherwise it is easy to produce chip deposition.

The temperature of the products should not be too high during cutting to prevent deformation.
