HISCO’s High-End Petrochemical Steel Contributes to the World’s Largest Carbon Capture Project
Recently, a batch of vanadium-chromium-molybdenum steel plates from HISCO Group’s Wugang Company was successfully delivered to overseas customers. These plates will be used in the manufacturing of critical equipment for the world’s largest carbon capture project, the Darrow Blue (Dalo Blue Energy) project in Louisiana, USA. All the performance indicators of this batch of steel plates have been certified by the French classification society and the customer, meeting international advanced levels.
HISCO is comprehensively advancing technological upgrades, increasing research and development efforts, and vigorously expanding market space. Wugang is actively implementing HISCO’s requirements, closely monitoring domestic and international market trends, targeting differentiated demands from high-end petrochemical industry customers, and fully leveraging the advantages of integrated production, sales, research, and application. They are committed to the research and development upgrade of thick, high-performance vanadium-chromium-molybdenum steel plates, continuously creating high-end, extra-thick steel plates that meet customer needs.
In this project, the customer not only demands higher product performance but also imposes more stringent requirements on steel plate performance testing, necessitating joint certification with classification societies. Wugang fully utilizes its technological advantages and brand strength, optimizes steel plate composition design, and simultaneously upgrades smelting, rolling, and heat treatment processes. During smelting, they precisely control the content of major alloying elements such as carbon and chromium. In the rolling process, they further enhance the rolling reduction by leveraging the capacity of rolling mills. During heat treatment, they develop dedicated heat treatment processes based on composition and performance requirements. Meanwhile, technical personnel track and record the entire process to ensure smooth progress. Ultimately, all product performance indicators pass the certification, and high-quality products are delivered to the customers.
